KidoCare - Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how KidoCare collects, uses, stores, and shares information when users use the app. KidoCare helps parents find babysitters, communicate with them, and helps babysitters manage their profile, availability, and requests.

Information we collect

• Account and profile information, such as name, phone number, email address, user ID, preferred language, city, or neighborhood.
• Parent profile details, such as number of children, children's ages, and optional address information.
• Babysitter profile details, such as age, experience, description, price, service neighborhoods, and availability.
• Profile photos that users upload as part of using the app.
• Requests, in-app messages, approvals, declines, cancellations, ratings, and reviews.
• Saved searches that a parent chooses to save in order to receive notifications when matching results become available.
• Referral and KidoCredits data, such as referral codes, credits, and reward-related activity.
• Technical identifiers, such as Firebase user ID, notification tokens, installation identifiers, or device identifiers used for security and operation.
• Technical information needed to operate the app, prevent abuse, support App Check, and authorize phone verification.
• Technical app activity information, such as general usage data, install measurement, error logs, crash reports, and performance data.

Optional usage analytics

Firebase Analytics usage analytics are off by default. You can turn them on or off at any time using the “Usage analytics” setting in the app. When enabled, we collect limited, aggregated usage data to understand which parts of the service are useful and to improve them.

This may include general events such as searching for babysitters and a broad result-count range, starting or completing sign-up, viewing a babysitter profile, creating, accepting, declining, or cancelling a babysitting request, updating availability, receiving a referral, or seeing and selecting an update prompt. An event may include only a fixed, general value such as user role (parent or babysitter), sign-in method (phone or email), or update type. Firebase may also process ordinary technical information such as app version, operating system, device, and an app-instance or installation identifier.

We do not send names, phone numbers, email addresses, Firebase user IDs, addresses or neighborhoods, children’s details, messages, free-form content, profile or request IDs, photos, or links to usage analytics.

How we use information

• To create and manage user accounts.
• To display profiles, availability, and relevant search results.
• To send requests between parents and babysitters and support coordination between them.
• To send notifications about requests, approvals, cancellations, saved searches, and relevant updates.
• To support invite links, referrals, and KidoCredits.
• To protect accounts, prevent abuse, limit phone verification attempts, and keep the service secure.
• To maintain, improve, and test the app.

Sharing information

Some information is shared with other users as part of the app's features. For example, a babysitter profile may be shown to parents, and request details from a parent may be sent to a babysitter. Contact details, photos, optional address information, messages, and reviews may be shown or sent to the other party when needed for the service.

We use external service providers to operate, secure, maintain, measure, and improve the app. These providers may include infrastructure, hosting, authentication, database, storage, server functions, notifications, abuse prevention, crash reporting, usage measurement, referral links, deep links, and attribution services. For example, as of the date this policy was updated, the app uses Google Firebase services and Singular. These providers may process technical identifiers, usage data, device data, and other information needed to provide their services to us.

Photos and files

A profile photo is required when creating a profile in the app. The photo is stored and shown in the app as part of the user's profile or in requests and messages where the profile appears.

Notifications

The app may use notification tokens to send push notifications about relevant activity, such as new requests, approvals, cancellations, reminders, or saved-search matches.

Security and retention

We use reasonable measures to protect information, including limiting access to administrative accounts and services, using access permissions and security rules in our cloud services, App Check, user authentication, error monitoring, and technical safeguards provided by our infrastructure providers. Information is transmitted between the app, servers, and service providers using secure connections such as HTTPS/TLS. Information is kept for as long as needed to operate the app, manage accounts, provide support, maintain security, prevent abuse, or comply with legal requirements.

Account and data deletion

Users can request deletion of their account and associated data from the profile screen in the app. An explanation of the deletion process is available at https://kidocare.app/delete-account. After deletion is confirmed, we will delete the account and associated data where possible. Certain records may be retained for a limited time for security, abuse prevention, backups, dispute handling, or legal compliance, generally for no longer than 90 days unless a longer period is required by law.

Access and correction rights

Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, including the notice requirement in section 11 regarding the existence of the right to access personal information and the right to request correction, users may contact us to request access to personal information about them or to request correction of information that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear, or outdated.
